"How do you stay consistent with your self-care routine (fitness, food, rest, etc) during the "busy" and full holiday season? " @homefitusa
During the busy holiday season it may be hard to keep up with your self-care routine. Five quick tips that work well for me and my clients are:
1. Try to get a workout in almost every day. Even if its 15 minutes, and in your home. Take the dog on a brisk walk or go to the park with the kiddos. This will keep your metabolism going!
2. Try to look for healthy food options if your traveling. You shouldn't starve yourself because this will lead you to binge on all those goodies. Keep smart snacks on hand in case you have no time to grab a bite.
3. I find my mind keeps running at night. Try to keep paper and pen handy next to your bed. If you write down all the things you need to juggle, this will ease your mind and you will be able to rest much better.
4. With all the stress from baking delicious dishes to keeping your home guest ready. Try to take a deep breath and remember the holidays are to bring us together. Things do not have to be perfect. So try to relax or delegate tasks to lighten your load.
5. Keep up with your water intake. The moment you are thirsty you should have already drank water. From the hot and cold weather, traveling on planes, to enjoying meals with friends and family. One of my go to's is Alkaline Water! Alkaline Water helps to boost your immune system and may neutralize the acidity in your body, which is caused by poor diet, stress and environmental toxins. Plus it tastes great!
